A 25-year-old man is understood to have been shot dead outside a pub in Clapham, southwest London, after residents reported hearing several loud bangs.

The attack occurred outside the Landor Pub in Clapham North. Specialist forensics teams are now scouring the scene for evidence, and police have visited nearby homes with Ring doorbells, according to MyLondon.
Locals said they heard multiple loud bangs from outside the pub at around 10pm on Monday. One resident said: "It was shortly after 10pm and I heard lots of sirens, and I heard bangs - I think it was five or something. And then I said 'do you think they were gunshots?'"
Community reaction
Another shaken resident expressed fears for the safety of her two-year-old grandson growing up in the city. "It's sad what happened, that someone lost a life," she said.
