Allegations of Severe Abuse at Bangalore Nursery

Police in India have launched a manhunt for five women suspected of abusing children as young as two at a nursery in Bangalore. The suspects are accused of locking crying children in washing machines, confining them in toilets, and spraying water into their mouths using jet sprays. Some children were allegedly shoved into narrow water pipes.

Investigation Triggered by Social Media Videos

The investigation began after videos surfaced on WhatsApp, reported to authorities on June 29, 2026. The clips were also reported to the Child Helpline, prompting police to search for the suspects, identified as Manjula, Vijayalakshmi, Bhavani, Sindhu, and Bindu. They have been booked under Section 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.

Outrage and Ongoing Investigation

The alleged abuse occurred at a nursery in Capgemini’s HAL campus in the Brookefield area. Parents have expressed outrage and raised concerns about safety standards. The Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has been notified. Police from the District Child Protection Unit are interviewing witnesses and assessing the extent of the abuse. No arrests have been made yet, but authorities expect to apprehend the suspects in the coming days.
