A four-year-old child and three adults have been injured in a suspected dog attack in Middlesbrough, with all four requiring hospital treatment. The incident occurred on Marshall Avenue in the Brambles Farm area of the town.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 2.10pm yesterday following reports that a Malinois dog had attacked four people. Police officers arrived and seized the dog, which is believed to be a Belgian Shepherd type.
Three people have been arrested in connection with the incident: a 15-year-old boy, a 34-year-old man, and a 36-year-old woman. They are being held on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury and are currently in custody for questioning.
Cleveland Police confirmed that the injuries sustained by the child and the three adults are not life-threatening. Temporary Inspector Mike Dalton said: “Once the report was received, officers swiftly attended to the area and the dog was located and seized.”
