A major murder investigation has been launched by the Metropolitan Police after construction workers made a horrifying discovery in a derelict North London factory.
The charred and unrecognisable remains of a body were found inside an abandoned industrial unit on Bounces Road in Enfield on Tuesday morning, sending shockwaves through the local community.
A Grim Discovery
Emergency services, including multiple police units and forensics teams, descended on the scene shortly after the alarm was raised. The area was immediately cordoned off with police tape as a large-scale operation began.
A spokesperson for the Met Police confirmed the severity of the find, stating: "We were called at approximately 10:14hrs on Tuesday, 18 June to reports of a body found at a disused commercial premises on Bounces Road, EN3. Officers attended. The body of a person was found. We are working to identify the person and inform their next of kin. A crime scene is in place."
