Missing Lancaster University Student: CCTV Reveals Last Sighting in Lancashire
CCTV Shows Last Sighting of Missing Student Tom Dingle

Lancashire Police have released new CCTV footage in a desperate bid to find a missing university student who vanished over a week ago.

Last Known Movements Captured on Camera

The footage shows the last recorded movements of Tom Dingle, a 19-year-old Lancaster University student from Appley Bridge. He was captured on a camera on Mill Lane in the village, heading towards the Boathouse pub, in the early hours of Saturday 13th December.

Tom has now been missing for eight days. His family describe him as being in a "vulnerable state of mind" following a traumatic bereavement, which has intensified their fears for his safety.

Family's Heartfelt Plea for His Return

In an emotional statement, his mother, 56-year-old Susan Dingle, appealed directly for her son to come home. "We just want him home as soon as possible," she said. "We’ve even put a note on the front door so he knows he can just walk in. We’re just here to love and protect him, that’s all."

She explained the profound impact of a recent loss on her son. "Tom is in a vulnerable state of mind following a traumatic event. He is grieving very much," Ms Dingle added. "My husband Peter and I, and Tom’s older brother, are going out of our minds with worry that something may have happened to him. We just want our baby back, that’s all."

Police Appeal for Crucial Dashcam Footage

Lancashire Police are urgently requesting help from the public, specifically asking for dashcam footage from the local area. They believe it could be vital to the investigation.

"We know people are really keen to help find Tom and what we really need from the public is dashcam footage from the area between 12.30am and 3am on 13th December," a police spokesperson stated. "We want to reassure you that our searches and enquiries are very much ongoing and we are doing everything in our powers to find Tom."

Tom is described as being 5ft 10in tall with short black hair. When last seen, he was wearing:

  • A black Carhartt jacket
  • Black jeans
  • Black Doc Marten shoes

He was also carrying a backpack over his shoulder.

Anyone who sees Tom is urged to call 999 immediately. Anyone with information or relevant footage should call 101, quoting log number 0120.
