British Transport Police have issued a public appeal and released a CCTV image as they search for a man in connection with an alleged sexual assault on a London Underground train.

Details of the Alleged Incident

The reported assault took place on the District line, on a train travelling towards Cannon Street Tube station. Authorities state the incident occurred at just before 8pm on Monday 15 December.

According to police, a man sat next to a female passenger and sexually assaulted her. In an attempt to escape him, the woman moved seats on two separate occasions. However, the suspect is alleged to have followed her each time, sitting next to her again.

Police Appeal for Information

Investigators have now released a CCTV image of a man they believe could hold vital information that may assist their enquiry. In their appeal, British Transport Police said: “Do you recognise this man? Officers believe the man pictured may have information that could help their investigation.”

The force is urging anyone who recognises the individual to come forward immediately.
