Car Crashes Into Bury Gym, Two Injured, One Arrested

Two people have been injured after a car ploughed into the wall of a JD Gym in Bury, causing chaos and forcing the gym to close. Emergency services, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene at the Angouleme retail park on Tuesday afternoon.

Dramatic footage showed dust and debris raining down inside the busy gym as members were working out. A man in his 60s who was using the gym was struck by the car and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The driver, a woman in her 40s, remains in hospital and has been arrested on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving.

Witness Dylan Winborne, 21, described seeing a 'barrage of concrete and bricks' fly into the gym. He said a man on a machine was sent flying 'two metres' into the air and was bleeding from the neck. Winborne initially thought there had been an explosion before noticing the car's headlights through the rubble.
