A British man has died after a fight on the Canary Island of Tenerife, emergency services have confirmed.
The 53-year-old was found in cardiac arrest when medical staff arrived at the scene in Costa Adeje, a resort on the southwest coast, following reports of two men fighting in the street.
The incident occurred on Avenida Ernesto Sarti at 1:47am on Thursday. A doctor, nurse and police attended, but resuscitation attempts failed and the man was pronounced dead.
The Spanish national police have taken over the investigation, according to the Emergencies and Security Coordinating Centre (CECOES).
Costa Adeje is a relatively new resort area within the town of Adeje, known as an upmarket alternative to some of the island's more traditional tourist spots.
