A British woman has gone missing from a hotel in Benidorm, with her family asking for help in tracking her down. Alice Rose Chalmers hasn't been heard from since just after midday on Monday, her sister said in a post on Facebook.
Last Seen at Hotel and Pharmacy
The Brit was staying at a hotel in the holiday hotspot when she went missing, according to the social media post. Her sister Charlotte has issued a desperate plea as the family seek help.
“Alice was initially staying at the Med Playa Hotel Regente, but hotel staff have informed myself that Alice has not been seen back at this hotel since around Monday 24th August lunchtime,” her sister wrote. “Alice is likely staying at a different hotel but this is unknown.”
No Contact Since Monday
“She has not been in contact with any of her family or friends since Monday 24th August around 12:05pm. She has stopped replying to messages and her phone now goes to voicemail.”
The latest possible sighting of Alice was yesterday at around 5:30pm in a pharmacy called Cristin Batres in Avenida Mediterannia area of Benidorm, her sister said. However, she added: “The information provided does sound like this could be Alice but it is not a confirmed sighting by police yet. She has still not been located.”
Family Appeals for Calm
The social media post also called for an end to speculation around the mental health of Alice, her sister said: "I know people are trying to help find my sister, which me, my family and Alice's friends really appreciate and are very grateful for, but please stop with all the incorrect speculation on this case without knowing the full background."
Her sister said Alice had been officially reported to the police as a missing person and the family was liaising with Spanish police.
