Brit toddler, 3, fighting for life after pool incident in Mallorca

A three-year-old British girl is fighting for her life in hospital after being found floating face-down by her parents at their holiday villa pool in Pollensa, Mallorca. The child was admitted to Son Espases Hospital in Palma with a very weak pulse yesterday evening, and her condition has not improved overnight, according to local media.

Incident Details

The alarm was raised around 8pm yesterday when the youngster’s mother and father discovered her floating face-down in the water. They immediately leapt into the pool and began trying to save her before local police arrived and took over resuscitation efforts. Shortly after, an ambulance reached the property, and emergency medical responders performed CPR, managing to revive her before she was rushed to hospital.

Fourth Incident in a Week

This incident is the fourth involving a British family in just over a week, following the deaths of three other British children—aged one, three, and four—in separate pool incidents on the Costa del Sol and the Canary Islands. The latest tragedy has raised concerns about holiday pool safety for young children.
