Women in Brighton have expressed growing fears for their safety following a series of assaults near the city's seafront. Sussex Police have launched investigations into multiple incidents that have left the local community on edge.

Over the past few weeks, several women have reported being attacked while walking alone in the area between Brighton Palace Pier and the Marina. The assaults, which occurred during evening hours, have included physical attacks and attempted robberies. In one case, a woman in her 20s was pushed to the ground and had her bag stolen, while another victim was grabbed from behind before managing to escape.
Police have increased patrols in the affected areas and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify suspects. Detective Inspector Sarah Williams stated, "We take these incidents very seriously and are doing everything we can to ensure the safety of women in Brighton. Community Response
Local residents and women's groups have called for better lighting and more visible policing along the seafront. A petition launched by a Brighton resident has garnered over 5,000 signatures, demanding improved safety measures.
