A young boy has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Heywood. The incident occurred on King Street at approximately 3:10pm on Thursday, September 24.
Emergency response and arrest
Police, paramedics, and firefighters responded to the scene. The Manchester Evening News understands that a young boy was struck by a car and taken to hospital. A man believed to be the car's driver has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A substance.
Fire service statement
A spokesperson from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: "Just after 3.15pm on Thursday 24 September, fire crews from Rochdale and Ashton attended a road traffic collision on King Street, Heywood. Firefighters worked alongside colleagues from North West Ambulance Service and Greater Manchester Police and one casualty has been taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary. Fire crews were on the scene for around 1 hour 15 minutes."
