Boy, 7, Airlifted to Hospital After Scooter Hit by Car in Hanley

A seven-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital after being hit by a car while riding his scooter in Hanley, Staffordshire. The incident occurred on Commercial Road at around 4pm on Wednesday, 22 April.

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, attended the scene. The driver of the silver Volkswagen Polo involved remained at the scene. The boy is in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Staffordshire Police are appealing for witnesses. A spokesperson said: 'We are appealing for information following a serious collision in Stoke-on-Trent involving a child. We were called at around 4pm to Commercial Road, Hanley, following reports of a collision involving a silver Volkswagen Polo and a seven-year-old boy, who was riding a scooter.'

The road was closed while police carried out initial enquiries and reopened at around 8.45pm.
