Boy, 6, dies in Llanfairfechan crash; man, 39, arrested

A six-year-old boy has died after being struck by a vehicle in Llanfairfechan, North Wales. North Wales Police were alerted shortly after 5pm on Thursday, October 1, following reports of a collision between a vehicle and a child. A 39-year-old man has been arrested and is currently assisting officers with their enquiries.

Emergency response and family support

Emergency services rushed to the scene, but despite their best efforts, the young boy was pronounced dead at the scene, Wales Online reports. Specially trained officers are providing support to the child's family during this devastating time.

Investigation and appeal for witnesses

Detective Inspector Tim Evans from North Wales Police's serious collision investigation unit said: "Our thoughts are with the young boy's family and friends at this extremely difficult time."

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is ongoing and police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time, to contact them by calling 101, quoting reference O162122.
