A three-year-old boy remains in a critical condition in hospital after falling from a first-floor window in Rochdale. Two women, aged 19 and 20, have been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury to a child.
Emergency services were called to Spotland Tops, in the Cutgate area of the town, shortly after 4.15pm on Saturday, August 22. Police and paramedics attended the scene, and an air ambulance was observed landing nearby.

The child fell from a first-floor window at a property and is currently fighting for life in hospital, the Manchester Evening News understands. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed they attended following a 'concern for welfare of a child report' and that a child was transported to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
Arrests made
In an update released on Sunday evening, the force confirmed two women, aged 19 and 20, had been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury to a child. They were apprehended at an address in Blackburn, Lancashire, earlier that day.
"Enquiries into the full circumstances around this incident are ongoing," the force added in a statement.
