A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman died at a house in Burnage, southern Manchester, on the morning of July 8, Greater Manchester Police confirmed.
Emergency response and victim details
Emergency services were called to an address on Ivylea Road at approximately 8am following reports of an assault. Upon arrival, a woman in her 60s was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Greater Manchester Police stated that the teenage boy was taken into custody and remains there for questioning. A murder investigation has been launched and is ongoing.

A police spokesperson said: "Officers responded to reports of an assault at an address on Ivylea Road, Burnage, at around 8am today (08/07/26). One woman aged in her 60s sadly died at the scene and a boy, aged 16, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody for questioning."
On Wednesday evening, a police car was pictured along the residential street as detectives continued their inquiries.
