A 13-year-old boy has died and a woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a collision on the M4 motorway in Wiltshire. The incident occurred between junctions 16 and 17 at approximately 8pm on Saturday, July 18.
Details of the Collision
Wiltshire Police confirmed that both victims were passengers in a Toyota RAV-4, which was involved in a collision with a Renault van. Emergency services attended the scene, and the boy was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was rushed to hospital for treatment; her condition has not been disclosed.
Traffic Disruption
The crash caused major traffic delays on the M4, with lanes closed for several hours as police conducted investigations. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
Authorities are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward to assist with the investigation.
