Disturbing bodycam footage has been released, capturing the violent moment a woman's arm was broken during an arrest by Metropolitan Police officers in central London. The incident, which has prompted a serious misconduct investigation, shows 34-year-old Jocelyn Agyemang screaming in pain as an officer applies a forceful restraint technique.
The Incident Unfolds
The confrontation began on Saturday night in Westminster when police were called to reports of a disturbance. Officers attempted to arrest Ms. Agyemang on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker. The newly released video shows a rapid escalation from a verbal altercation to a physical struggle.
As Ms. Agyemang resists being handcuffed, an officer can be seen grabbing her arm and twisting it behind her back. A sickening crack is audible, followed by the woman's piercing screams: "You've broken my arm! You've broken my f***ing arm!" The officer is heard replying, "Stop resisting then."
Aftermath and Investigation
Ms. Agyemang was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital where she was diagnosed with a fractured humerus, requiring extensive surgery to insert metal plates and screws. She now faces a long and painful recovery.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has launched a full investigation into the conduct of the officers involved. A spokesperson stated, "We are assessing the level of force used against the national guidelines and whether the actions were proportionate and justified."
