West Midlands Police have confirmed that the body of a woman has been recovered from a pool at Sandwell Valley Country Park following a search operation on Saturday.
Incident details
The woman went missing in the water at around 4.30pm on Saturday, June 27. Emergency services, including fire and rescue teams, were deployed to the scene and conducted extensive efforts to locate her.
Specialist teams from fire and rescue entered the water and recovered the body. Police stated that nothing could be done to save her, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police statement
In a statement released on Saturday evening, West Midlands Police said: "Specialist teams from fire and rescue were deployed into the water, where they recovered the body. Sadly, nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed deceased at the scene. Our thoughts are with her family at this tragic time."
The force added that the death is not being treated as suspicious and that they will be liaising with the coroner. Police are supporting the woman's family.
