A body has been located during the search for a missing 18-year-old man who entered the River Wye in mid Wales. The discovery was made after a multi-agency operation involving police, fire, and mountain rescue teams was launched on Tuesday evening.

Search Operation Details

Emergency services were called to the River Wye at Glasbury, Powys, at 6:30pm following reports that an 18-year-old male had entered the water and could not be found. Dyfed-Powys Police, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Mountain Rescue, and the National Police Air Service all participated in the search.

Tragically, after hours of searching, officers located a man's body. The family of the deceased has been informed and is receiving support from authorities.

Road Closure and Public Appeal

The A483 was closed in both directions near Glasbury during the search and subsequent investigation. A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson said: "Emergency services remain in the area and ask that members of the public stay away while enquiries continue." The force has indicated that police will likely remain in the area for some time to conduct their investigation.
