Body Found in Cumbernauld Woods in Search for Missing Man

Police searching for a missing Aberdeen man have discovered a body in woodland in Cumbernauld. Robert Miller, 59, was reported missing from the Seaton area of Aberdeen on July 5, 2026. He was last seen near Charing Cross Station in Glasgow on the same day, and had known links to Cumbernauld.

Discovery in Wooded Area

At around 10:15 am on Friday, July 17, officers found a man's body in a wooded area near Forest Road in Cumbernauld. Formal identification has yet to take place, but Mr. Miller's family has been informed of the development.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 10.15am on Friday, 17 July, 2026, police discovered a man’s body in a wooded area near Forest Road, Cumbernauld. Formal identification has still to take place, however the family of Robert Miller, 59, who was reported missing from the Seaton area of Aberdeen have been informed."

No Suspicious Circumstances

Police have stated that the death is not believed to be suspicious. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course. The search for Mr. Miller had been ongoing for two weeks before the discovery.
