Greater Manchester Mayor Bev Craig has said authorities are "doing all we can" to find missing teenager Lillia and "bring her home safely." In a statement tonight (Friday), the Mayor said she was being kept updated on GMP's investigation into the 13-year-old's disappearance and urged anyone with information on her whereabouts to come forward.
Lillia was first reported missing last Friday from her home in Bolton. A major GMP investigation is underway.
Joint statement from Mayor and Deputy Mayor
In a joint statement tonight, Greater Manchester Mayor Bev Craig and Deputy Mayor Kate Green said their "thoughts are with Lillia's family and loved ones at this difficult time." They added: "GMP is continuing to keep us updated on their ongoing investigation and they have our full support. We know everyone across Greater Manchester and beyond will want to do whatever they can to help."
"If you have any information that could help find Lillia, please come forward. Any information no matter how small, including CCTV, doorbell or dash cam footage, could assist the investigation. Please keep checking and sharing GMP Facebook for the latest infromation and updates. Together we'll keep doing all we can to find Lillia and bring her home safely."
Confirmed sightings and appeal for footage
Lillia was seen at 11pm in Piccadilly Gardens on Friday, September 11. She was next seen boarding the 247 bus at the Trafford Centre at 1.50pm the following day. In an update today, police confirmed they had also identified a further sighting of Lillia, on CCTV footage at the McDonald's at Piccadilly Gardens at around 8:20pm on Sunday, September 13.
She is described as 5ft 5ins, of slim build, with brown hair and glasses. She was last seen wearing a black zip-up hooded top, light blue baggy jeans and a black Nike backpack.
In a statement today, Chief Supt Helen Critchley from GMP's Bolton district, said: "We would ask that anyone in Piccadilly Gardens on Sunday, September 13 around 8.20pm checks any mobile phone footage they may have captured. Subsequently we are still keen to hear from anyone who may have seen Lillia on Saturday, September 12 at around 1.50pm where we believe she boarded the 247 bus at the Trafford Centre. Sunday, September 13 is the last confirmed sighting of Lillia and our investigation currently covers the whole of Greater Manchester with officers across the force being asked to support our enquiries."
Mother's plea
Earlier this week, her mother Jessica issued a heartfelt plea for Lilia to 'come home'. She said: "Lillia, you're not in any trouble, I'm really, really worried. It's been four nights now and you need to be safe. Please come home, we all love you very much."
