A masked individual dressed as horror film character Michael Myers has allegedly been seen terrifying residents in Batley, West Yorkshire. Footage of the figure in a residential area was shared on a local Facebook group, prompting numerous comments from residents.
Alleged Chases and Reactions
Several commenters claimed the individual had been pursuing people, while others speculated whether the episode was linked to a social media trend. The post sparked a mix of worry, disapproval and humour, Yorkshire Live reports.
A Facebook user named Ibby Husy Hussain said the individual had allegedly chased a young mum and her toddler, claiming the woman fled into a nearby lane in distress and barely avoided oncoming vehicles. He wrote: "This maybe funny to some, this idiot chased a young mother and her toddler, the outcome could've been a lot worse!"
Residents' Accounts
Another user claimed the man had chased their sister, saying she ran onto a main road without looking and was eventually helped by someone she knew. Other residents described being frightened by the appearance. Vicky Tootill wrote: "Well I would s*** myself," while Alexandra Ignac said: "Oh gosh, that's not funny mate. Get help!"
An anonymous user mentioned a trend on TikTok featuring people dressing as characters and attempting to scare members of the public, adding: "Don't give him the attention he craves." Faheem Abdullah suggested the incident had been orchestrated after spotting another post showing the individual further along the street, being filmed from a vehicle.

The sighting also sparked numerous Halloween comparisons, despite it being several weeks away.
