Emergency services rushed to a home in south Manchester this morning after reports of a medical incident involving a baby. Witnesses described seeing paramedics 'running' with the infant from a property on Platt Lane in Fallowfield.
An air ambulance, Greater Manchester Police, and multiple ambulances were seen at the scene. Neighbours reported a 'terrifying' scene as paramedics attempted to save the child. One neighbour said, 'It was terrifying. Very scary.'
The Manchester Evening News understands that the baby died at the scene. It is not yet known if the death is being treated as suspicious. Detectives and forensic crime scene investigators were observed at the location.
The North West Ambulance Service confirmed that paramedics attended an incident at a private address but declined to provide further details. Police have not yet released a statement regarding the circumstances of the death.
