Three Arrested After Armed Police Standoff in Kings Hill

Armed police were called to a disused building in Kings Hill, West Malling, Kent, on Saturday afternoon following reports of a disturbance. Officers arrived at the scene in Tower View at around 3.31pm to find three individuals on the roof of the building, wearing balaclavas.

Police dogs were deployed, and a significant police presence was observed, with multiple officers and vehicles surrounding the site. Local residents reported seeing armed police and police dogs in the area.

Kent Police confirmed that three men were arrested on suspicion of burglary. They remain in custody pending further enquiries. A police spokesperson said: 'Officers attended the scene where three people were found to have climbed to the roof of the building.'

The incident prompted a response from the public on social media, with many expressing concern and seeking updates. One resident wrote on X: 'I live round the corner, seen all the people watching, any update on what’s actually going on?' Another replied: 'Same, drove past a couple of hours ago and there were a ton of armed police and police dogs.'

Kent Police have not released further details at this stage, describing the incident as ongoing. The building has been described as disused.
