Armed police raided a number of properties in Wirral this morning as part of an ongoing investigation. Concerned residents contacted the ECHO on Thursday, August 13 after armed police descended on Morecroft Avenue in Rock Ferry.
Three firearms warrants executed
Merseyside Police has now confirmed to the ECHO three firearms warrants were executed in the Rock Ferry, Tranmere and Spital areas, as part of an investigation into an incident in Tranmere on August 10. Three men, aged 58, 36 and 29, have been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences, kidnap and assault and are currently in custody.
Woman also arrested
A 24-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug (class A). She is also in custody, police said.

Chief Inspector Steve Robinson said: “Today’s warrants show that Merseyside Police will relentlessly pursue offenders who choose to carry and use weapons.
“The support of the public for our work is vital and we continue to encourage people to come forward with information so we can safeguard their communities.”
