Armed Police at Plymouth Schools After Knife Report

Armed officers were deployed to two schools in Plymouth, Devon, following a report that a young person was carrying a knife. Witnesses reported seeing armed police at Shakespeare Primary School and All Saints Academy in Honicknowle, with pupils told to remain on site.

Devon and Cornwall Police received a call at 10:50am about a third-hand report of a young person possibly in possession of a knife walking in the Butt Park Road area. Armed officers, along with neighbourhood and response officers, conducted enquiries but found nothing of concern.

All Saints Academy confirmed that police attended the school site to ensure safety and have since left. An increased police presence remains in the local area as a precaution. The school day continued as normal, and the scheduled parents evening is proceeding as planned.
