A man has been detained following an incident at a GP surgery in Llantwit Major that left staff "shaken" as armed police descended on the Welsh town.
South Wales Police confirmed nobody was hurt in the incident and armed police were deployed as a precaution.
Incident at Eryl Surgery
The incident occurred on Monday, September 28, at the Eryl Surgery in Station Road, Llantwit Major.
A man has been detained under the Mental Health Act and taken to hospital following the incident.
Staff left shaken
All of the staff at the medical practice were left "shaken" by the incident, which happened on Monday afternoon.
A statement from Llantwit Major and Coastal Vale Medical Practice on Monday said: "A serious incident occurred at our practice today which has shaken all our staff."
"Everyone is okay and we would like to thank you all for all your support."
The community has also been thanked by South Wales Police for "its patience and understanding".
