Armed police were deployed as part of a major emergency response at an IKEA store in Ashton-under-Lyne, Tameside, Greater Manchester, after a woman sustained serious injuries.
An air ambulance was pictured by the store on Wellington Road following a concern for welfare report. Eyewitnesses reported a large police scene at the shop, with ambulances and tactical aid vans parked outside.
Air ambulance lands on car park roof
The air ambulance landed on the roof of the multistorey car park at around 11.30am, while armed police were also spotted at the scene, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The Tameside division of Greater Manchester Police later confirmed they were in attendance at the store after reports of a concern for welfare, and that a woman was in hospital with serious injuries.
