Armed Police Arrest Woman at Edinburgh Tesco After Weapon Scare

Armed police officers descended on a Tesco Extra store in Edinburgh following reports of a woman allegedly in possession of a weapon. Shoppers witnessed a significant police presence at the supermarket in the Corstorphine area on Friday evening.

Police Scotland received a call at around 4:10pm on Friday, January 9, regarding concerns for a person with a weapon at the store on Meadow Place Road. Officers, including an armed response unit, attended the scene as a precautionary measure.

A 20-year-old woman was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. She has since been released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.
