Armed police arrested two men after a report of a man with a possible weapon at a block of flats in Aberdeen. A bladed item was recovered from the scene.
The alarm was raised shortly after 7pm on Monday, September 7. Emergency services, including firearm officers, rushed to Tillydrone Terrace.
Officers in tactical gear at the scene
Footage taken on the street and shared on social media by Fubar News shows a number of officers in tactical gear holding rifles. At least five armed cops can be seen in front of the flats before making their way up a path to the entranceway. Several marked police vehicles are also seen parked up on the road.
Two men aged 21 were arrested and charged in connection with the incident. They are due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Tuesday, September 8.
Police statement on the incident
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.10pm on Monday, 7 September, we received a report of a man with a possible weapon in the Tillydrone Terrace area of Aberdeen.”
“Officers attended and was two men aged 21 were arrested and charged in connection. They are due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 8 September. A bladed item was recovered.”
