An air ambulance landed at the IKEA store in Ashton-under-Lyne this morning (September 28) after police were called to a concern for welfare at the shop on Wellington Road.
Multiple eye-witnesses reported a large police scene at the store, with police cars, ambulances and tactical aid vans parked outside. Armed police were also spotted at the scene.
Air ambulance lands on car park roof
The air ambulance was seen landing on the roof of the multistorey car park at around 11.30am. Greater Manchester Police's Tameside division later confirmed they were in attendance after reports of a 'concern for welfare'.
A woman was taken to hospital with 'serious injuries', the force said.

In a statement on Facebook, the Tameside division said: "Officers were called to reports of a concern for welfare at a store on Wellington Rodd in Ashton-under-Lyne. Multiple emergency services responded and a woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries. We thank people for their patience and understanding as our work continues."
