Armed officers swooped on a Scots main street after a male was allegedly seen with weapons. The alarm was raised on the afternoon of Thursday, September 10 when cops were alerted to an incident on Kelty Main Street.
Emergency services, including firearm officers, rushed to the Fife town. Photos and footage taken at the scene shows a number of officers in tactical gear holding rifles, while others are in normal police uniform.
Teen arrested and charged
At least five armed cops can be seen detaining an individual on the pavement and leading him into a police car. Several blue-lit, marked police vehicles also swarm the street and can be seen parked up nearby.
Police confirmed the incident did not involve a handgun, firearms officers attended as a precaution, and that no one was hurt.
No injuries reported
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in connection with being in possession of weapons. He is due to appear at court at a later date.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 17-year-old male youth has been arrested and charged in connection with being in possession of weapons on Main Street, Kelty on the afternoon of Thursday, 10 September, 2026.
“There were no reports of any injuries. He is due to appear at court at a later date.”
