A 19-year-old woman found dead at a Wetherspoon pub in Plymouth has been identified as Kelsey O'Connor. An inquest into her death opened today, with the cause of death yet to be determined.
Emergency services were called to The Mannamead in the Mutley area at around 7.30am on March 31 after reports of an unresponsive female. Paramedics attended, but Kelsey was pronounced dead at the scene. A cordon was set up in an alleyway behind the pub.
Area Coroner Deborah Archer, opening the inquest, stated that Devon and Cornwall Police had confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. The medical cause of death has not been established.
A Wetherspoon spokesperson said: 'On 31 March 2026, a serious incident occurred to the rear of the Mannamead prior to the pub opening. Our management team responded promptly and are assisting the police with their ongoing investigation. The pub will remain closed today while this matter is being addressed.'
