19-Year-Old in Critical Condition After Huyton Street Shooting

A 19-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after being shot in the leg and back in Huyton on Friday evening. Emergency services were called to Manley Road at around 8.50pm on November 7 following reports of a man with gunshot injuries outside a property.

The victim received treatment at the scene before being taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition. A police cordon is in place on Manley Road as officers conduct house-to-house enquiries and review CCTV footage.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and any dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident. Chief Inspector Andy Hughes said: “We are still in the very early stages of an investigation and we are determined to find the person or people responsible.”

He added: “A young man is currently in hospital with significant injuries and I’m sure the community will be utterly appalled at what has happened this evening. I want to reassure local residents that we are taking this incident extremely seriously and we are relentless in our pursuit of those involved in gun crime.”

Hughes urged anyone with information to come forward: “This is a residential area and there will be people who may have witnessed the incident. Even the smallest of details could prove vital in our investigation.”
