Murder Investigation Launched After Woman's Death in Swindon
Wiltshire Police have launched a murder investigation following the death of a 55-year-old woman at a property in Swindon. The victim has been formally identified as Sarah Forrester.
The incident occurred on Friday evening at a mid-terrace house located on Baydon Close in the Moredon area of the town.
Arrest and Police Bail
Officers responded to reports of a disorder at the address. Upon arrival, they discovered Ms Forrester, who was not breathing. She was declared dead at the scene.
A 13-year-old girl was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder. She has since been released on police bail while the investigation continues.
Police Appeal and Community Reassurance
Detective Chief Superintendent Guy Elkins, leading the inquiry, stated that their thoughts are with Sarah's family and friends. He confirmed that the major crime investigation team is handling the case and that a heightened police presence will remain in the Moredon area.
DCS Elkins provided a crucial update, stating, "We are not looking for anyone else in connection with Sarah’s death." He strongly urged members of the public not to speculate about the tragic incident and encouraged anyone with concerns to contact their local neighbourhood policing team directly.
