Two single mums from Swansea were caught in a police sting after being lured into a drug ring by the promise of 'easy money'. Rachelle Morgan, 32, and Hayleigh Hutchinson, 30, were sentenced at Swansea Crown Court.
Police sting operation
The United Parcel Service (UPS) contacted South Wales Police in October 2025 to report two parcels containing cannabis. The parcels were shipped from the USA and addressed to Morgan's home in Ravenhill, each under a different alias.
Police ordered UPS to update its system to show the parcels would be delivered the following day. Two police officers then knocked at Morgan's door posing as delivery workers. Morgan answered, confirming both parcels were for her. The mum-of-two was arrested for importing cannabis, reacting with surprise.

Messages on her phone showed she had been working with Hutchinson, who was arrested the next morning. The total value of the cannabis seized was around £7,670.
Prosecutor Alycia Carpanini said: "Miss Morgan was told she would receive £150 for receiving the two parcels. Miss Hutchinson described it as easy money and ordered her not to tell anyone about it."
Background and sentences
Morgan, of Heol Dynys in Ravenhill, pleaded guilty to importing class B cannabis. She had three previous offences on her record, including drink-driving. Hutchinson, of Colliers Way in Penlan, admitted importing cannabis and being concerned in the supply of that drug as well as Class A cocaine. She had no previous convictions.
Morgan's barrister Ian Ibrahim said she was a single mother of two children, aged three and five. She was approached with an offer to receive parcels and pass them on, paid around £75 per parcel. He said she did well at school and had a good work ethic, but the realities of life took hold and she needed money.
Hutchinson's barrister Dean Pulling said she was approached by an associate of her ex-partner, who persuaded her to provide a delivery address for parcels of cannabis. She was using cannabis herself regularly and had recently fled a violent relationship. She is currently enrolled with Swansea University doing business management and leadership.
Morgan was sentenced to a 12-month community order with 80 hours of unpaid work. Hutchinson was handed 15 months in prison, suspended for 18 months. Both must complete 20 days of rehabilitation activity. A proceeds of crime hearing will take place in November.
