Restaurateur Ross Horrock has condemned a trio caught on camera using the front doorway of his restaurant as a toilet. The incident occurred outside The Caddy Mann Restaurant near Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders.
What the CCTV Captured
The footage shows a man and a woman shielding the scene while a younger man squats down holding toilet paper. The video has garnered over 2.9 million views since being posted on social media.
Horrock said: "Well, never thought we would have to explain this, butt. Please Note – our front door is NOT a toilet, toilets are usually made of porcelain and have their own enclosed room inside." He added that the group noticed the cameras before completing their act and moved on.
Social Media Reactions
The video, shared last week, provoked widespread shock. One commenter said: "I'm still trying to work out why, how, what??? My mind is blown." Another added: "Even if there weren't any cameras why on earth would you decide to do it at a front door." A third person remarked: "Why there. There are bushes over the way. Why pick the doorway of all places." Another viewer quipped: "What is this, the starting point of the Boston Marathon?" A final comment simply read: "Busted."
Impact on the Business
Horrock expressed frustration at the disrespect shown to his business. The incident has highlighted the challenges faced by small businesses dealing with antisocial behaviour. The restaurant continues to operate as normal, with the owner urging the public to report any similar incidents.
