A woman has been arrested after revenue officers seized a massive haul of crystal meth and cannabis inside luggage at Dublin Airport.
The drugs, with an estimated value of more than £814,000, were discovered in two large suitcases filled with 35kg of illicit substances. The cannabis is valued at around half a million pounds, while the crystal meth is worth over £315,000.
Sniffer dog Charlie helps in discovery
With the help of a sniffer dog named Charlie, revenue officers found an estimated 29kg of herbal cannabis and 6kg of crystal methamphetamine in the baggage of a passenger who had arrived on a flight from Canada.
Pictures of the bust show bags of the drugs spilling out of the suitcases. The woman, in her 50s, has been arrested and is being held at Dublin Garda Station under the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
