West Midlands Police have issued an update in the search for a missing mother and her three children, suggesting they may have travelled 117 miles from Birmingham to London.
Search Update
Alimat, 31, from Wolverhampton, was last seen on Saturday with her children in the Digbeth area of central Birmingham. CCTV footage showed her walking with her three children and at least two suitcases. She was also pushing a pram which, as well as carrying her youngest child, appeared to be full of clothes and coats.
In an update yesterday, police said they believed Alimat and her children could have travelled from New Street station to London Euston. A spokesperson said: "We are continuing to ask for your help to locate Alimat who is missing from #Wolverhampton. The 31-year-old, and her three children, were last seen in the city on Saturday before being spotted in #Birmingham city centre the following day. It is understood she may have travelled from New Street station to London Euston. If you can help, please call 999 quoting PID 461858."
Appeal for Information
West Midlands Police previously took to social media, posting: "Have you seen Alimat? The 31-year-old from Wolverhampton is missing along with her three children. They have been missing since 8 August and were last seen in the area of Digbeth in Birmingham. If you see Alimat please call 999 quoting RID 1160387."
The family have not been seen since, and police are continuing to ask the public for help in locating them.
Support for Missing People
Of the 170,000 people who go missing in the UK each year, some cases remain etched in our minds, while others fade too quickly from public attention. For families and friends of those still missing, the need for answers and support never diminishes.
In 2025, the Mirror launched Missed, in partnership with Missing People, to bring awareness to every publicly listed missing person in the UK through a live, interactive map. The map allows users to see how many people have gone missing in a chosen area, with photos, names, ages, and time missing. Sightings can be reported in confidence and shared on social media.
For advice and support, text or call Missing People’s Helpline on 116 000 or email 116000@missingpeople.org.uk. It is free, confidential, and non-judgmental. Sightings information can also be provided via the helpline or at www.missingpeople.org.uk.
