Daniel Kinahan, 49, has been remanded in custody after appearing before the Special Criminal Court in Dublin charged with directing an organised crime group.

Arrest and Extradition

Kinahan, a Dublin boxing promoter and alleged leader of the Kinahan organised crime group, was arrested in April in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He was flown from Dubai to Ireland today aboard a £39 million government jet belonging to the Irish Air Corps.

The jet touched down at Dublin's Baldonnel Airport at around 7.20pm, where Kinahan was arrested. He was then taken under armed guard from law enforcement and the Irish Defence Forces to a special Sunday hearing at the Special Criminal Court.
