Greater Manchester Police are searching for the person who damaged an infant's grave at Westwood Cemetery in Ince, Wigan. The child's family have suffered 'great distress' after the marble surround of the grave was damaged and ornaments were discarded.
Incident timeline and details
The damage is believed to have occurred between April 4 and July 25, 2026. Police received a report on July 25 about the vandalism in the baby garden at Westwood Cemetery on Westwood Lane.
Officers have attended the cemetery and spoken with the family. A GMP Wigan spokesperson said: "This incident has understandably caused great distress to the family and our thoughts are with them."
