Obese Florida Man Arrested After Hiding Drugs Under Stomach Fat

A 42-year-old man in Florida has been arrested after police discovered he was hiding cocaine and cannabis under the folds of his stomach fat. Christopher Mitchell, who weighs approximately 450lb (200kg), was a passenger in a car stopped by a Volusia County sheriff's deputy on Friday.

The vehicle was pulled over because the deputy noticed Mitchell was not wearing a seatbelt. When asked why, Mitchell reportedly said he was too large to wear one. The deputy observed that both Mitchell and the driver appeared nervous and called for a drug-detecting dog.

The dog alerted officers to the presence of drugs in the car. A subsequent search uncovered cocaine and cannabis hidden under Mitchell's abdominal fat, along with a handgun and $7,000 (£4,100) in cash. Mitchell now faces multiple drug and weapon charges.
