Malachy Lothian, 20, has been jailed for three years and four months after police discovered drugs worth £88,000 and almost £6,000 in cash at his home in Newport.
Police raid uncovers drugs and cash
Officers served a warrant at Lothian's home in the Glan Llyn estate, Llanwern, in May last year. A search of the property revealed heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine, and cannabis, along with £5,764 in cash, mobile phones, and drug paraphernalia.
Lothian, of Spencer Way, Llanwern, later pleaded guilty to three counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, one count of possession with intent to supply class B drugs, and one count of possession of criminal property.
Sentence and police comment
He was sentenced at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on Friday.
Following the hearing, neighbourhood inspector Roland Giles of Gwent Police said: "Drugs fill our communities with misery, suffering and fear and people like Lothian prey upon the vulnerable in our society."
He added: "We hope today's outcome shows that help from our communities really does make a huge difference, so please continue to report your concerns and information to us.
"Your information allows us to coordinate our approach to combat the use and distribution of illegal drugs, enabling us to bring people like Lothian to justice and increase the public's trust and confidence in us.
