A former Metropolitan Police officer has pleaded not guilty to scamming luxury stores out of thousands of pounds, including a £700 Dior bikini and a £2,599 Apple MacBook. Sunna Harrison-Aziz, 28, from Coulsdon, South London, appeared at Southwark Crown Court yesterday to deny 10 charges of fraud and corruption.
Harrison-Aziz is accused of making false claims that she did not receive goods ordered online. The alleged frauds include a Dior bikini worth £700, an Apple MacBook from Currys valued at £2,599, a Cartier wedding band worth £1,920, and a Moncler jacket priced at £840. She also faces five counts of improperly accessing police files between January and September 2022.
The former constable is additionally charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice by hiding her iPhone from police, claiming it was lost or broken, and then allegedly destroying it after a police search of her home. Two co-defendants, Edgar Morais, 30, and Eugene Nunoo, 30, each denied one count of encouraging Harrison-Aziz to misuse her police powers.
Judge Nicholas Rimmer set a trial date for March 27, 2028, apologising for the delay due to court backlogs. Harrison-Aziz was granted bail pending trial.
