Emmerdale's Caleb Miligan Turns to Crime After Scam Betrayal

Emmerdale is lining up a new crime story for Caleb Miligan and another village resident in the fallout to a devastating betrayal, with one actor hinting the scheme 'goes wrong'.

Caleb Miligan's Humiliating Betrayal

One fed up Emmerdale character feels so betrayed next week, that he plots some dodgy dealings to make himself feel better. Caleb Miligan is no stranger to criminal activity, but he's avoided it for some time. An incident next week leaves him fearing he's lost his 'edge' though.

As a result, he enlists the help of a colleague as he plots an illegal new side hustle. It's been teased it won't end well though, with 'dark' scenes ahead as things 'go wrong'.

The £5,000 Scam

Caleb will find out next week that he's been scammed out of £5,000. He thought he was sending the money to his daughter Steph Miligan for a London flat deposit. He thought he was on the phone to her, but next week he learns the humiliating truth. He realises someone has been using an AI recording of Steph's voice to trick him into paying up.

Caleb is furious and utterly embarrassed to have been duped. Within days, he decides to go back down a more dodgy path, no doubt feeling he has been walked all over. He has no idea Archie Breckle and Kerry Wyatt are behind the scam, while they do come under suspicion very soon.

The Counterfeit Goods Plan

Billy Fletcher is concerned when Caleb pulls him aside in manager Jai Sharma's absence at the depot, Caleb's business. Caleb shares his plan to run a counterfeit goods operation at the depot. He plots a secret side business that only he and Billy know about, and he advises they keep Jai out of it.

With Caleb desperate to prove he's not to be messed with, he's pushed back into crime. But how far will he go and will he and Billy regret their plans? Billy is reluctant and he's worried about it, given it's illegal. But Caleb soon sways his mind, talking about the profits he will make and the money Billy will get.

Things 'Go Wrong'

Soon Billy is on board, but it's been teased that further into the plot, things will 'go wrong'. Caleb actor Will Ash told The Mirror and other press that Caleb is headed down a darker path, which he's excited to play. But as Caleb gets further into this scheme, the plan might not work out as he hoped. It's definitely dodgy, and Caleb and anyone involved should definitely watch out, while full details are being kept under wraps for now.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
