£2M Illegal Goods Seized in Bolton Raid

A massive haul of suspected illegal goods valued at approximately £2 million has been discovered in Bolton. The items, including vapes, perfumes, clothing, and cosmetics, were seized from a commercial premises in the town.

Details of the Seizure

Police and trading standards officers from Bolton Council were called to the site on June 5 following concerns raised during a landlord and tenant dispute. Upon arrival, they found a large quantity of illicit goods, including a substantial number of vapes, mounds of perfumes, clothing, and cosmetics, as well as chemicals and liquids used to manufacture vapes and perfumes.

Value and Scale

The seized goods are estimated to have a street value of more than £2 million. Three 40-tonne lorry loads of items have been removed from the premises as part of ongoing investigations.

Cllr Robert Morrisey, Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member for Regulatory Services, stated: "This was a significant operation involving the seizure of a large quantity of suspected illegal goods. We are working closely with Greater Manchester Police and partner agencies as investigations continue. Due to the ongoing investigation, we are unable to comment further at this stage."
