Police officer's photo of 1984 crash 'captures spirit leaving body'

A police officer who photographed a fatal car crash in Minnesota in 1984 believes he captured the moment the victim's spirit left his body. The image, taken by Officer Brown Coyle, shows an eerie yellow light resembling a face above the wrecked vehicle.

John Boulware, 16, was killed when the car he was travelling in crashed into a tree on 27 December 1984. He had been on his way to see Prince perform in Minneapolis. Three other occupants escaped with minor injuries.

Officer Coyle said he was puzzled when he later reviewed the photos. 'There was a clear image of a face... it appeared to be in agony, a scream,' he said. Experts who analysed the image could not provide an explanation.

The photo, released to the public, sparked debate about whether it shows John's spirit departing. YouTuber MrBallen described the image as 'eerily similar' to John's face, claiming it captured his final moment.
