A person has been taken to hospital after a collision in Blyth, Northumberland, with forensic teams now investigating at the scene.
Emergency services, including the air ambulance, responded to the incident on Bridge Street at 10:54am on Sunday. Police closed all four exits of the roundabout leading to Bridge Street, Ridley Avenue, Wellington Street and Wellington Street East.
Patient taken to hospital
The patient was taken to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital (NSEC) in Cramlington by road ambulance. The roads remained closed at 2.30pm, with at least two Forensic Collision Investigation Unit vans present at the scene.
The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) said it sent two ambulances to the area.
Emergency response
A spokesperson for the service said: "We were called to a road traffic incident on Bridge Street in Blyth at 10:54 on Sunday 30 August. We dispatched two ambulance crews, one specialist paramedic, one clinical team leader and were supported by Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS). One patient was taken to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital (NSEC) by road."
