A professional cleaner has shared deep cleaning tips for four often-forgotten areas in the home, which she says will help maintain a spotless and sanitary living space. The cleaner, named Sunny, highlighted these areas in a TikTok video, demonstrating her simple methods for restoring them to a gleaming state.
Four neglected areas highlighted
In the video, Sunny wrote, "Four things you probably forget to clean," before revealing the four areas and showing exactly how she would tackle them. The tips come as keeping a tidy home has been shown to enhance mental wellbeing and lift mood, while mess and clutter have the opposite effect.
Toilet and air fryer
For the toilet, Sunny is seen addressing the toilet drain with a chemical cleaner before scrubbing the inside of the bowl. She then uses sponges and cloths to wipe down every surface from top to bottom, and advises mopping or scrubbing the surrounding floor to address any splashing that may have been missed.
For the air fryer, Sunny recommends adding a few spoonfuls of bicarbonate of soda to the basket, along with a dash of washing up liquid, before pouring in boiling water from the kettle, ensuring the water covers the tray. After leaving it to soak for a few minutes, she drains the water into the sink, revealing a gleaming air fryer ready for a swift rinse.
Socks and dishwasher
To restore white socks to their original brightness, Sunny suggests placing them in a bucket filled with hot water, adding Oxi powder stain remover or any other bleaching powder, and leaving them to soak for as long as the packaging directs. After draining the water, the socks go into the washing machine with more Oxi powder stain remover, and they emerge brilliantly white once the cycle is complete.
For the dishwasher, Sunny takes out the shelves and unscrews the blade inside the machine, then cleans all these parts, including the filter, by hand in the sink. Before reassembling, she thoroughly scrubs the interior with a sponge and adds a cleaning powder into the bottom of the dishwasher to run a cleaning cycle.
